I was taken with Rusty from the first moment she was introduced. I have a thing for characters with spicy personalities, and she did not disappoint. I really appreciated the way she was portrayed as she came more into her own and tried to find herself after being raised in a very religious family and being in an abusive relationship. I also appreciated how those situations and their effects were not forgotten and were carried throughout the book, but the book still managed to maintain a light-hearted feel instead of feeling weighed down by the severity of trauma, both past and when it shows up on your doorstep again. I loved, absolutely loved, getting to learn about all the different alien species. (I want a Totor. I will stand by this forever. Please. A Totor is all I want for Christmas.) The way all the different alien species’ cultures and tastes were captured was so done so well and fit well with everything from the environments to the smut scenes to their actions. And the smut scenes . . . were amazing for just that reason. It was a wild variety of experiences, and that made it hot and steamy. Also, the characters all really shined, even if they were only shown briefly, I felt I got a real sense of who they were. The way Rusty's relationship with Daylyn and Max grew over the span of the book was really beautiful and felt natural, and I especially appreciate the highlighting of aftercare as they explored things Rusty wasn't used to and felt uneasy about because that often gets ignored in books and other media. Overall, I really enjoyed this book, and I would love to read more about this world. (Especially if it involves a Totor. I really want one.)
